After being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival\, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom. \nThe King of Queens\, which premiered in 1998\, ran for nine seasons on CBS with James starring and executive producing\, and it garnered him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show concluded its run in 2007 but continues to air daily in syndication across the country and around the world. James also starred in\, and executive produced The Crew\, a sitcom set in the world of NASCAR and is currently developing a single camera comedy (both for Netflix). \nJames brought his stand-up act to TV with Sweat the Small Stuff\, a one-hour special for Comedy Central. DESCRIPTION:Celebrated artist Heidi Pitre returns to Odessa with her exhibit of library card art. “A Permanent Record\,” repurposes vintage library cards into unique artworks that celebrate the written word. Pitre’s work will be exhibited at the Ector County Library from September 6 – November 19\, 2023. A special reception will be held for Pitre as well as new library Director Howard Marks on September 16th at 5:30pm on the first floor of the Ector County Library. Pitre will also hold a library card art workshop on Saturday\, September 17th at 2pm at the Ector County Library. The reception and the workshop are free and open to the public.
