SUMMARY:Odessa Shakespeare Festival- Julius Caesar
DESCRIPTION:Experience Julius Caesar like never before as the Texas Shakespeare Festival brings this gripping political tragedy to life at the historic Globe Theatre at Odessa College. \nA highlight of the 2025 Odessa Shakespeare Festival\, this live performance takes place in a venue unlike any other—a faithful replica of William Shakespeare’s original 1599 Globe Theatre. \nSet in ancient Rome\, Julius Caesar explores themes of ambition\, loyalty\, and betrayal as senators plot to assassinate Caesar to save the republic\, only to unleash chaos and civil war. The play’s iconic lines\, moral complexity\, and dramatic intensity remain strikingly relevant today. This is a rare opportunity to witness professional Shakespearean theatre in an authentic setting that evokes the experience of 16th-century London. \nThis is your chance to see one of the Bard’s most powerful works performed by some of Texas’s finest classical actors\, live and on stage\, where Shakespeare himself would feel right at home.

Failure to respond to the confirmation email by 2 pm on the day of Globe Night may result in the Sharer having to wait until a subsequent Globe Night to share their Piece. \n• There are 15 live performance slots available per Globe Night. Sharers will be able to sign up for live performances until the 15 slots are filled or 2 pm on the day of Globe Night\, whichever comes first. \n• Live performances of Pieces must be kept at 5 minutes or less in length. \n• If applicable\, please make use of available microphones and sound amplification for the live performance of your Piece to ensure that it is accessible and can be clearly heard by all audience members. \n• In order to maintain Globe Night’s open atmosphere\, Pieces that explicitly and exclusively advocate for or disparage specific politicians\, political parties\, or political candidates will not be shared. \n• Sharers will not share at Globe Night while under the influence of alcohol\, drugs\, or other illicit substances. \n• Hate speech\, harassment\, and bullying of any kind—including targeting anyone based on race\, religion\, gender\, sexual orientation\, or any other personal identity—will not be tolerated. This goes for Sharers and audience members alike. \n• Pieces with nudity will not be shared. \n• Pieces involving the live performance of real violence will not be shared. This does not apply to Pieces that contain representations of violence (e.g.\, a written description of violence) or simulated violence (e.g.\, a scene containing stage combat). \n• As this is an Odessa College event\, both audience members and Sharers alike will be expected to adhere to the college’s guidelines and standards of conduct. \n• All contents of Globe Night Pieces represent the views of the individual Sharer(s) and not Odessa College. Odessa College is released from any liability or responsibility related to the content in Globe Night acts. \n• If you have any questions regarding these guidelines or the appropriateness of the contents of your Piece\, please email Brianna Dunston: brianna.r.dunston@gmail.com.
