SUMMARY:Globe Night
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a FEARLESS FRIDAY of UNAPOLOGETIC ARTISTRY! \nThe Globe Theatre at Odessa College opens our stage to the energy and artistry of OC students\, faculty\, departments\, and clubs … collaborating alongside our Odessa/Midland community to fill the Globe with exploration\, creativity\, and passion. \nGLOBE NIGHT at Odessa College is time to share … anything: \n\nsinging and dancing\,\npoetry and storytelling\,\nphotography and film\,\npuppetry and magic tricks\,\nstand-up comedy and full-out drama\,\nculinary and horticulture … it’s all welcome!\n\n For the purposes of these guidelines\, people who share things at Globe Night in the form of live performances\, visual art\, etc. will be referred to as \n“Sharers.” Things that Sharers present to the Globe Night audience—including live performances\, visual art\, etc.—will be referred to as “Pieces.” \n• Sharers must fill out the Globe Night Sign-Up form and respond to follow-up/confirmation emails in order to share at Globe Night. Failure to respond to the confirmation email by 2 pm on the day of Globe Night may result in the Sharer having to wait until a subsequent Globe Night to share their Piece. \n• There are 15 live performance slots available per Globe Night. Sharers will be able to sign up for live performances until the 15 slots are filled or 2 pm on the day of Globe Night\, whichever comes first. \n• Live performances of Pieces must be kept at 5 minutes or less in length. \n• If applicable\, please make use of available microphones and sound amplification for the live performance of your Piece to ensure that it is accessible and can be clearly heard by all audience members. \n• In order to maintain Globe Night’s open atmosphere\, Pieces that explicitly and exclusively advocate for or disparage specific politicians\, political parties\, or political candidates will not be shared. \n• Sharers will not share at Globe Night while under the influence of alcohol\, drugs\, or other illicit substances. \n• Hate speech\, harassment\, and bullying of any kind—including targeting anyone based on race\, religion\, gender\, sexual orientation\, or any other personal identity—will not be tolerated. This goes for Sharers and audience members alike. \n• Pieces with nudity will not be shared. \n• Pieces involving the live performance of real violence will not be shared. This does not apply to Pieces that contain representations of violence (e.g.\, a written description of violence) or simulated violence (e.g.\, a scene containing stage combat). \n• As this is an Odessa College event\, both audience members and Sharers alike will be expected to adhere to the college’s guidelines and standards of conduct. \n• All contents of Globe Night Pieces represent the views of the individual Sharer(s) and not Odessa College. Odessa College is released from any liability or responsibility related to the content in Globe Night acts. \n• If you have any questions regarding these guidelines or the appropriateness of the contents of your Piece\, please email Brianna Dunston: brianna.r.dunston@gmail.com.
