SUMMARY:ALICE COOPER
DESCRIPTION:Alice Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock that was designed to shock.  Drawing equally from horror movies\, vaudeville\, and garage rock\, the group created a stage show that featured electric chairs\, guillotines\, fake blood and boa constrictors. He continues to tour regularly\, performing shows worldwide with the dark and horror-themed theatrics that he’s best known for. \nCooper was discovered in 1969 by Frank Zappa in Los Angeles\, where he signed them to his record label.  Their collaboration with young record producer Bob Ezrin led to the break-through third album “Love It to Death” which hit the charts in 1971\, followed by “Killer\,” “School’s Out\,” ”Billion Dollar Babies\,” and “Muscle of Love.”  Each new album release was accompanied by a bigger and more elaborate touring stage show.  1974 saw the release of a “Greatest Hits” album\, and then Cooper\, in 1975\, released his first solo album\, “Welcome to My Nightmare” in 1975\, accompanied by the legendary groundbreaking theatrical Welcome to My Nightmare concert tour. \nWith his influence on rock & roll and popular culture long since acknowledged\, there is little that Alice Cooper hasn’t achieved in his remarkable career\, including platinum albums\, sold-out tours and any number of honors and career achievement awards.

A night of classic music and a night you won’t forget! \nPresented locally by 97 Gold. \nAbout John Waite \nJohn will be performing his catalog of hits from his 40-year career as a solo artist\, with The Baby’s and Bad English. \nJohn Waite’s catalog of hits features some of the most loved songs of the 80s and 90s – the #1 Worldwide hit ‘Missing You’\, The Baby’s ‘Isn’t It Time’ and Bad English’s ‘When I See You Smile’ rank amongst some of his biggest international hits and are still heard on the radio today.  Others include ‘Tears’\, ‘Change’ and ‘These Times Are Hard For Lovers’. ‘Every Step Of The Way’ and ‘If Anybody Had A Heart’ appeared on the soundtrack to the 1986 Demi Moore film About Last Night. ‘Deal for Life’\, penned by Martin Page and Bernie Taupin\, was featured in the Days Of Thunder soundtrack. \nAs a solo artist and as the lead singer of The Baby’s and Bad English\, John Waite was a fixture of album-oriented rock radio stations during the ’70s and ’80s. Industrial in Midland. The Old Lumberyard is formerly a lumberyard long ago abandoned\, but since repurposed and revamped with a juke joint vibe to be one of Midland’s coolest\, most eclectic outdoor venues\, accented with gems of days gone past. \nGates will open at 4 PM and first performance starts at 5 PM.
