SUMMARY:2026 SandHills Stock Show & Rodeo
DESCRIPTION:Details \n\nThe SandHills Stock Show & Rodeo is set to return to the Ector County Coliseum from January 8 to 17\, 2026\, bringing together the best in professional rodeo action\, livestock shows\, and family entertainment. This year marks an impressive 93 years of livestock shows and 78 years of rodeo action\, continuing a proud tradition that began in the early 1930s. Serving as the official kickoff for the stock show circuit and the start of the pro-rodeo Texas swing\, a night at the SandHills Rodeo promises an experience filled with saluting the flag\, cheering for winning rides\, and getting up close to bone-jarring action. The 2026 rodeo will feature elite PRCA competition\, with top-ranked cowboys and cowgirls competing head-to-head in events such as bull riding\, barrel racing\, saddle bronc riding\, calf roping\, and more. New to the lineup this year is specialty act John Payne\, “The One Arm Bandit\,” whose world-renowned horse and herd performance has earned him 15 PRCA Rodeo Act of the Year titles. Returning is fan favorite\, Justin Rumford. As barrel man\, he will bring his energy and humor to the arena. A ten-time PRCA Clown of the Year and host of the popular RumpChat podcast\, Rumford continues to be a highlight for audiences nationwide. Joining him in the arena will be two of the sport’s most decorated bullfighters: Dusty Tuckness\, a 17-time Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR) bullfighter and ten-time PRCA Bullfighter of the Year\, and Nate Jestes\, a six-time WNFR bullfighter and nine-time PRCA Bullfighter of the Year Top 5 nominee. Calling the action\, PRCA Announcer of the Year and living legend\, Randy Corley will return as the voice of SandHills\, guiding audiences through every thrilling rodeo moment. This will be Corely’s last time to announce the SandHills rodeo as he reduces his schedule. The legendary Beutler & Son Rodeo Company of Elk City\, Oklahoma\, will once again provide the stock for the SandHills Rodeo. With over 90 years of experience producing elite rodeos and supplying top-tier livestock\, the Beutler family is one of the most respected stock contractors in the United States. Their presence guarantees high-caliber competition and adrenaline-filled moments that keep fans on the edge of their seats. Beyond the arena\, the SandHills Stock Show continues its legacy of promoting youth and agriculture. Exhibitors from across Texas will fill the livestock barns from opening day\, showcasing some of the finest animals in the state. The stock show includes competitions for junior market steers\, heifers\, market lambs\, and market goats. Unique to SandHills\, the Steer Show remains Texas’s only junior livestock show exclusively for Hereford cattle\, while the Junior Lamb Show features only Fine Wool Lambs. Exhibitors range in age from eight to nineteen\, representing the next generation of Texas agriculture and the future leaders of the livestock industry. Entertainment extends beyond the rodeo arena with an after-rodeo dance. This year’s featured concert will take place on Friday\, January 16\, with Texas country star Aaron Watson headlining. Known for his signature blend of classic country storytelling and skilled vocals\, Watson promises an engaging good time. Since its founding\, the SandHills Stock Show & Rodeo has been a pillar of the sport of rodeo and a cornerstone of the West Texas community. The event’s commitment to excellence has earned it national recognition\, including its recent induction into The Original Wrangler Bull Fights of Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame—a prestigious honor that highlights the dedication of the committees\, past and present\, who have shaped its enduring success. The 2026 SandHills Stock Show & Rodeo promises six performances filled with rodeo excitement\, livestock excellence\, and a nightly $1\,000 giveaway. The event continues to offer a one-of-a-kind experience that honors the past while celebrating the future of the western lifestyle. Tickets go on sale Friday\, November 14 at 10:00 AM.
