SUMMARY:Theatre Network of Texas College Paid Internship Program
DESCRIPTION:DESCRIPTION \nTheatre Network of Texas\, Inc (TNT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the theatres and artists of Texas and the communities they serve. TNT\, with the support of the the Jack K. Ayre and Frank Ayre Lee Theatre Foundation\, sponsors college internships to address the needs of theatres and students in the discipline of live theatre. \nGOAL \nThe goal of the program is to expose students to the theatre profession by: \n\nproviding firsthand experience working with and in theatres;\ngiving an overview of current issues in the profession;\nfacilitating job opportunities through contacts made in the Texas theatre community.\n\nELIGIBILITY\n \n\nMust have graduated  / completed high school course work and received high school diploma.\nCompleted Sophomore year of college after high school graduation. (Advanced placement and completion of college courses while still enrolled in high school does NOT qualify as completion.)\nMajoring in any aspect of theatre i.e. education\, administration\, etc.\nGraduate Students are eligible\nStudents of every race\, religion\, gender\, ethnic and economic background and sexual preference are eligible to apply.\nMust be a member of TNT at the Student ($20) level at the time of application\nMust be available to attend TEXFest in Odessa for interviews – March 11 – 15\, 2026\nMust be a resident of Texas or attend a Texas university with a Texas address\nMust have a drivers license and reliable transportation\nMust be available for orientation\, the internship and the debriefing from May 15\, 2026 – July 27\, 2026\n\nApplicants must submit all application attachments (Transcript\, Resumé\, Letter of Recommendation\, Essay) to be considered. \nPERIOD AND SITES OF INTERNSHIP\nTen weeks beginning with orientation – May 15\, 2026 and finishing with a debriefing on July 27\, 2026 both in Fort Worth\, Texas (THESE ARE IN PERSON AND NOT OPTIONAL.) Following orientation\, interns will have five week residencies at two different theatres culminating in a debriefing. Please note: the host theatre chooses the intern they want\, as opposed to the intern choosing the theatre. \nInterns will get the opportunity to learn about administrative\, artistic and technical aspects of working in theatre. Each theatre determines what work interns will do. Past interns have worked backstage and in administrative offices\, helped with summer theatre camps\, performed in shows\, constructed costumes\, etc. \n\nPLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A PERFORMANCE INTERNSHIP. \nCOMPENSATION\nSelected interns will receive $3\,000 for the ten weeks. Lodging will be provided by the host theatres during the residencies. Lodging could consist of an apartment\, a room in someone’s home\, a dorm room\, etc. \n\nJOB DESCRIPTION \nDepending on the theatres chosen for placements\, the residencies may include artistic\, technical and administrative experiences and duties. The focus of the internship is determined by the individual theatres. Interns will be mentored during their placements by the heads of the divisions in which they work. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A PERFORMANCE-BASED INTERNSHIP. \nSome previous placements have included: Theatre Three\, Shakespeare Dallas\, Dallas Summer Musicals\, Dallas Children’s Theater\, Kitchen Dog Theater\, Amarillo Little Theatre\, Stage West\, Hip Pocket Theatre\, Theatre Arlington\, S.T.A.G.E. Bulverde\, WaterTower Theatre\, Unity Theatre\, Ensemble Theatre\, ACE Theatre\, Stages Repertory Theatre\,  The Alley Theatre\, The Point Theatre\, Hill Country Community Theatre\, Temple Civic Theatre\, Plaza Theatre Company\, ArtsView Children’s Theatre\, Baytown Little Theater\, Rover Dramawerks\, Fredericksburg Theater Company\, Vive Les Artes\, Playhouse 2000 and Beaumont Community Players. \nTERMS OF INTERNSHIP / REQUIREMENTS \n\nInterns must have a valid drivers license. Interns are responsible for their own transportation to / from interviews\, orientation\, placement and debriefing.\nInterns must be available for travel throughout the period. \nInterns must be able to commit to the completion of the ten week program. Exceptions may be made with advance notice.\nInterns must have demonstrated communication skills.\n\n\nSELECTION PROCESS \nApplications will be reviewed by TNT staff and Executive Director. SUMMARY:Kevin James:  Eat the Frog
DESCRIPTION:Kevin James began his career as a stand-up on the Long Island comedy scene. After being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival\, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom. \nThe King of Queens\, which premiered in 1998\, ran for nine seasons on CBS with James starring and executive producing\, and it garnered him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show concluded its run in 2007 but continues to air daily in syndication across the country and around the world. James also starred in\, and executive produced The Crew\, a Netflix sitcom set in the world of NASCAR. \nJames brought his stand-up act to TV with Sweat the Small Stuff\, a one-hour special for Comedy Central. Kevin James and Ray Romano executive produced and starred in the HBO Sports Special Making the Cut: The Road to Pebble Beach; a documentary about the Pebble Beach Pro Am Golf Tournament that was nominated for a Sports Emmy. His second comedy special Never Don’t Give Up premiered on Netflix to critical acclaim. \nJames made his feature film debut in Columbia Pictures’ Hitch starring opposite Will Smith\, and starred in\, produced and co-wrote the hit comedies Paul Blart: Mall Cop 1 & 2\, Zookeeper\, and Here Comes The Boom. James has starred alongside Adam Sandler in Pixels\, Grown Ups\, Grown Ups 2\, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry\, and Hubie Halloween. He starred in the features True Memoirs of an International Assassin and Home Team for Netflix\, as well as the independent action thriller Becky. \nJames can currently be seen in his one hour stand-up comedy special Kevin James: Irregardless on Prime Video\, which was nominated for 2024’s Best Comedy Special by the Critics Choice Awards. James will also be starring in the 2026 upcoming feature film “Solo Mio” alongside Nicole Grimaudo\, Jonathan Roumie\, and Kim Coates.

DESCRIPTION:The Globe Film Festival is set to return to the Historic Globe Theatre on January 30–31\, 2026\, inviting all to celebrate independent film and creativity with a variety of activities including screenings\, panels\, workshops\, awards\, and a food court. Filmmakers are encouraged to submit original short films\, ranging from 1 to 10 minutes in length and suitable for a community audience\, in any genre or style—whether shot on a phone or professional equipment. The deadline for submissions is January 16\, with selected works having the opportunity to be showcased as Top 10 finalists at the festival. SUMMARY:Cristela Alonzo: The Midlife Mixtape Tour
DESCRIPTION:Cristela Alonzo made history when she became the first Latina to create\, produce and star in her own network sitcom\, ‘Cristela’ for ABC. Cristela made history again when she became the first Latina lead in a Disney Pixar film when she voiced the character of Cruz Ramirez in ‘Cars 3’. Cristela has subsequently appeared in numerous films and TV shows\, such as HBO’s ‘His Dark Materials’ and Stephen Soderbergh’s ‘The Laundromat.’ She has appeared on late night shows such as Conan\, The Late Show with David Letterman and Stephen Colbert\, and numerous talks shows and game shows as well as being a host on ABC’s ‘The View’. Her first stand-up special\, Lower Classy\, is currently streaming on Netflix\, along with her more recently released second stand-up special\, ‘Middle Classy’. Cristela has also released a memoir\, ‘Music to My Years\,’ with Simon & Schuster Publishing. In it\, Alonzo shares personal stories of growing up as a first-generation Mexican-American in Texas and following her dreams to pursue a career in showbusiness. In 2025\, Cristela shot and released her 3rd Netflix stand up special\, “Upper Classy”.

DESCRIPTION:As one of today’s premiere stand-up comedians\, Jo Koy has come a long way from his modest beginnings performing in a Las Vegas coffee house. Jo’s uniquely relatable comedy pulls inspiration from his colorful family that has reached all kinds of people and has translated into sold-out arenas around the world. \nThe comedian continues to be one of the top 10 grossing stand-up comedians each year according to Pollstar and Billboard. Today\, he continues selling out and breaking sales records at some of the most prestigious venues around the world including Mall of Asia Arena (Manila\, PH)\, The Forum (Los Angeles)\, Coca-Cola Arena (Dubai)\, ICC Theatre (Sydney\, AU)\, O2 Arena (London)\, Madison Square Garden (New York City)\, and American Airlines Arena (Dallas) to name a few. In 2022\, Koy kicked off his Funny Is Funny World Tour by selling-out the Climate Pledge Arena (over 14\,000 tickets) in his hometown of Seattle and ended the tour with a sold-out show at Tacoma Dome (over 19\,000 tickets).
