SUMMARY:40 Years 40 Artists: An Anniversary Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of the Museum’s 40th anniversary\, we are excited to announce this exhibition as a tribute to our collection. Throughout the past four decades\, we have diligently collected and preserved a diverse collection of artworks that encapsulates the cultural and historical significance of our region and the broader artistic community. Our collecting mission has been rooted in the belief that collecting art is not merely a task; it is a responsibility we hold for future generations. By ensuring that these works of art\, along with the narratives they convey\, remain accessible\, we are fostering a lasting connection between our community and the artistic expressions that define it. \nThis exhibition will not only showcase 40 exceptional artists but also feature a timeline that highlights significant events from the Museum’s history over the last 40 years. These artworks will spark memories of past shows\, programs\, and events\, allowing visitors to reflect on our history. \nWe invite you to explore these artistic contributions that resonate with our identity and inspire ongoing dialogue about our community’s journey. Join us in celebrating our past\, present\, and future as we honor the artists and stories that shape our collective experience. \nThis exhibition features old favorites\, never-before-seen artworks\, and recent acquisitions\, all from the Museum’s vault.

SUMMARY:Forever Simon & Garfunkel
DESCRIPTION:Forever Simon & Garfunkel celebrates the best selling duo in rock’n’roll history. With humor\, soaring energy\, charm\, and laser precise harmony\, Sean Altman & Jack Skuller lead the audience on a concert journey through Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel’s teenage roots\, their early success as a groovy folk act\, their global dominance as hit-makers\, and even some of Paul Simon’s solo career. The Sound Of Silence\, Bridge Over Troubled Water\, Mrs. Robinson\, I Am A Rock\, The Boxer\, Homeward Bound\, Cecilia\, Hazy Shade Of Winter\, Feeling Groovy\, Me & Julio Down by the Schoolyard\, Kodachrome\, and many more! \nAward-winning singer-songwriters Sean Altman (Rockapella) & Jack Skuller (Songwriters Hall Of Fame Buddy Holly Prize) met on stage in 2010\, when they were paired at a variety show to duet Mrs. Robinson. Jack had just celebrated his 14th birthday\, and Sean had just celebrated his shiny new AARP card\, but the audience found their December-January musical bromance and brotherly harmony to be enchanting and mesmerizing. The pair has toured as The Everly Set since 2016\, celebrating the hits of The Everly Brothers. They formed Forever Simon & Garfunkel in 2020\, and they tour both acts internationally.

SUMMARY:Broadway in the Basin Presents Hadestown
DESCRIPTION:COME SEE HOW THE WORLD COULD BE. \nWelcome to HADESTOWN\, where a song can change your fate. Winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and the 2020 Grammy® Award for Best Musical Theater Album\, this acclaimed new show from celebrated singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and innovative director Rachel Chavkin (Natasha\, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) is a love story for today… and always. \nHADESTOWN intertwines two mythic tales — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice\, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone — as it invites you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Mitchell’s beguiling melodies and Chavkin’s poetic imagination pit industry against nature\, doubt against faith\, and fear against love. Performed by a vibrant ensemble of actors\, dancers and singers\, HADESTOWN is a haunting and hopeful theatrical experience that grabs you and never lets go.
