Composer, Arranger, Acoustic and Electric Guitar Player Gabriel Santiago creates a fresh take merging Brazilian music, jazz and classical into his arrangements. Gabriel won ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award in 2010. JazzTimes Magazine calls Gabriel “a young master at both the acoustic and electric guitars” and his compositions as “stunners.” His background studies with jazz musicians Pat Metheny, Adam Rogers, and Maria Schneider influence both his playing and compositions. Gabriel has collaborated with a wide variety of artists such as Janek Gwizdala, Esperanza Spalding, Chris Potter, Terence Blanchard, Carmen Bradford, Gilson Peranzzetta, Odair Assad, among others.
Gabriel has been composing music for a wide variety of ensembles (ranging from Symphony Orchestra to Chamber ensembles, Big band to Jazz Combos), styles, and media, including Film, TV, and Internet.
