Adventures in Art: Papel Picado

The Ellen Noël Art Museum is excited to offer “Adventures in Art,” an enriching art class designed for aspiring artists ages 6-12. This engaging program allows young creatives to explore their artistic talents through a combination of exhibition tours and hands-on studio projects. Classes are held from 2:30-4:30 PM, providing a perfect afternoon activity for budding artists.

In our upcoming session, students will have the unique opportunity to tour the current exhibition featuring Guadalupe Hernandez’s stunning large-scale displays of papel picado. These intricate and colorful cut paper artworks will serve as the inspiration for the day’s studio project. Participants will learn the traditional techniques of making their own papel picado, allowing them to connect with this beautiful and historic art form in a meaningful way.

The cost for each class is $20, with advance, online registration required by noon Thursday, October 3rd. Due to limited class size, we encourage you to sign up soon to secure a spot for your young artist.
