Frederick Knott’s thriller play first opened on Broadway in 1966 and was shortly followed by its movie adaptation starring Audrey Hepburn in 1967.
Suzy Hendrix, a blind Greenwich Village housewife unwittingly possesses a doll filled with illicit drugs. Three con men attempt to blackmail Suzy into handing over the doll. A battle of wits ensues as Suzy and the young girl upstairs hash a plot against the thieves using her new-found blindness to her advantage.
