Midland County Library - Centennial Branch 2503 Loop 250 Frontage Rd., Midland

The Amazing Castle™ transports children and adults to a magical place and time—within the castle’s stone walls there exists a happy and peaceful little community where every citizen has a special job to do. As visitors explore The Amazing Castle and its eight themed areas, they will encounter seven citizens who are part of the castle community. From entertaining to sewing, each citizen plays a special role. As they move through the castle, visitors can playfully explore ideas related to community life and experience the interconnectedness of friends, family and new acquaintances. 40 Years 40 Artists: An Anniversary Exhibition

Ellen Noel Art Museum 4909 E. University, Odessa

In celebration of the Museum's 40th anniversary, we are excited to announce this exhibition as a tribute to our collection. Throughout the past four decades, we have diligently collected and preserved a diverse collection of artworks that encapsulates the cultural and historical significance of our region and the broader artistic community. Our collecting mission has been rooted in the belief that collecting art is not merely a task; it is a responsibility we hold for future generations. By ensuring that these works of art, along with the narratives they convey, remain accessible, we are fostering a lasting connection between our community and the artistic expressions that define it. This exhibition will not only showcase 40 exceptional artists but also feature a timeline that highlights significant events from the Museum's history over the last 40 years. These artworks will spark memories of past shows, programs, and events, allowing visitors to reflect on our history. We invite you to explore these artistic contributions that resonate with our identity and inspire ongoing dialogue about our community's journey. Join us in celebrating our past, present, and future as we honor the artists and stories that shape our collective experience. This exhibition features old favorites, […]

Art Talk

Ellen Noel Art Museum 4909 E. University, Odessa

Join us for an engaging evening at the Ellen Noël Art Museum's Art Talk! This event is a wonderful opportunity for art enthusiasts to come together and delve into the mysteries of a particular painting as they enhance their visual literacy skills. Gather with friends and fellow art lovers as we interpret, comprehend, and appreciate the art in ways that advance thinking, decision-making, communication and learning. Art Talk is all about exploring different perspectives and sparking lively conversation. Whether you’re an art aficionado or just curious, share your thoughts and insights in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We go through a three question process that allows visitors to share their perceptions while viewing a piece of art from our Permanent Collection. Come be a part of Art Talk at the Ellen Noël Art Museum and experience art in a whole new way. We can't wait to see you there!
