• Artist Talk: Barry Phillips the Younger

    In describing his upcoming retrospective, Phillips shared: "I am honored to present my 40-year retrospective at Odessa College. It will be fun and informative and strange, so don't miss it!" In addition to the exhibition, Odessa College will host an artist talk with Phillips at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, in the Globe Theater, followed by a reception in the Phillips Goff Gallery. Phillips holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Texas Tech University and a Master's degree in Fine Art from Texas A&M - Commerce. He is also a former member of the board of directors for the Texas Association of Schools of Art. The Phillips Goff Gallery will be open during the exhibition with hours of 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday

  • Cassatt Quartet Residency

    We bring the Cassatt String Quartet to West Texas bi-annually to inspire and work intensively with our students (elementary to college students), expand students' horizons, and give cultural awareness and higher education guidance. We enrich and develop people through music. Students learn life lessons via chamber music and orchestral playing such as teamwork, verbal and non-verbal communication, and respect for one another. At 1:00 PM, we invite you to immerse yourselves in a beautifully illustrated story and a fun art activity. This free event offers an engaging children's story followed by a hands-on art project related to the tale. Our featured book for this session is When I Am Big by Maria Dek. Young attendees will be entertained by a whimsical and imaginative counting book that encourages young children to dream big and explore the possibilities of growing up. After the story, children will participate in an art activity inspired by the adventures. It’s a wonderful opportunity to foster a love of reading and creativity in young children while spending quality time together. We look forward to welcoming you and your little artists to the museum for this fun and inspiring event!

    Join us for our annual Día de los Muertos celebration at the Ellen Noël Art Museum! This free, family-friendly event is a vibrant way to honor and learn about the customs and traditions of this meaningful holiday. From 1:00–3:00 PM, enjoy hands-on art activities inspired by Día de los Muertos. Then, from 3:00–4:30 PM, experience live music and dance performances that bring the celebration to life. We’re excited to welcome our community partners: – ECISD Early Childhood Department – Literacy Coalition of the Permian Basin – Spanish students from Compass Academy, who will present a special pop-up ofrenda exhibition And more!
