1st Annual BCCPB MLK Chili Cook-Off Greetings To ensure a fair and smooth competition, please review the official cook-off rules below: • All chili entries must consist of meat or Impossible™ meat (vegetarian substitute). • No beans, corn, or green bean–type vegetables are allowed in any chili entries. • Chili may be hot, mild, or extra mild for judging. • All chili entries must be fully prepared and placed on the judging table no later than 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2026. • Once chili is placed on the table for judging, nothing may be added or altered. Participants are asked to follow all rules closely to avoid disqualification. If you have any questions regarding the MLK Chili Cook-Off rules or participation details, please contact the BCCPB office at 432-332-5812.

Details The SandHills Stock Show & Rodeo is set to return to the Ector County Coliseum from January 8 to 17, 2026, bringing together the best in professional rodeo action, livestock shows, and family entertainment. This year marks an impressive 93 years of livestock shows and 78 years of rodeo action, continuing a proud tradition that began in the early 1930s. Serving as the official kickoff for the stock show circuit and the start of the pro-rodeo Texas swing, a night at the SandHills Rodeo promises an experience filled with saluting the flag, cheering for winning rides, and getting up close to bone-jarring action. The 2026 rodeo will feature elite PRCA competition, with top-ranked cowboys and cowgirls competing head-to-head in events such as bull riding, barrel racing, saddle bronc riding, calf roping, and more. New to the lineup this year is specialty act John Payne, “The One Arm Bandit,” whose world-renowned horse and herd performance has earned him 15 PRCA Rodeo Act of the Year titles.
