WHAT IS FIRST FRIDAY? First Friday ODTX is a monthly gathering every first Friday of the month for residents and visitors of downtown Odessa. Each month, the streets are lively and colorful with music, games, and delicious food. There are unbeatable deals from local businesses and exciting opportunities to collect amazing giveaways. The event is open to all ages and caters to everyone’s interests. For music lovers, there are live performances by local bands and artists, while foodies can indulge in a diverse range of street eats. Downtown shops and eateries will offer special promotions. First Friday ODTX event brings vibrancy and community spirit to downtown Odessa, making it the perfect place to spend a Friday evening.
Adventures in Art Ages 6 - 12 Adventures in Art is an exhibition-driven class for children ages 6 - 12. We begin with a gallery walk of a related exhibition in the museum and finish with a studio art experience that changes with each class. This 1 hour class is held once a month from October - May. Ages 3 - 5 Art Tales is a free program that includes a live reading of a beautifully illustrated children’s book and followed by a hands-on art activity that is age appropriate. This 30 minute program is geared towards children age 3 - 5 and held twice a month October - May. We understand that large groups in a storytime can be overwhelming for some of our patrons. So we have partnered with Share, who work with Special Needs families in the Permian Basin for a Sensory Friendly Storytime with a couple of books, a few songs, and craft or sensory toys to play with after storytime. We will also have a calming room set aside for those that get overstimulated. Location: 3rd Floor Auditorium
