A day of reflection, fun and connection, where we honor the enduring legacy of freedom, culture and community. Wander through the scenic trails while engaging in activities that spotlight Black culture, history and creativity. Juneteenth celebrates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans is a time for remembrance, resilience and joy. On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, freedom reached Texas, marking the beginning of the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth, now a nationally recognized holiday, honors this pivotal moment in history. Juneteenth Evening Festival | 6-9 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Come out and embrace the theme Reclaiming the Past, Remembering Black Voices, Reshaping the Future. The evening will be a blend of culture, entertainment and family-friendly fun. Kids can enjoy interactive games and activities, while adults can browse an evening market showcasing the talents of local artists and vendors. Celebrate Black excellence with live music, dance performances, delicious food and much more. It’s an event for all ages to reflect, celebrate and envision a unified future together.

Bring an old t-shirt or denim jacket for a fun (and complimentary) clothing up-cycle activity. May 13 | Full Moon Ceremony Ullman Terrace 6-9 p.m. Connect your mind and body to the power of the full moon with this traditional ceremony hosted by Karla Vergopia. The ceremony will start promptly at 7 p.m. and late arrivals are discouraged.
Date: July 14-18, 2025, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Price: Youth $400 Member $360 This camp is recommended for ages 12-16. What does a community need to be healthy, safe, and beautiful? In the 1930’s, Frank Lloyd Wright tried to answer those questions and planned a community called Broadacre City. Using Wright’s work as inspiration, campers will work together to create their own planned city. They will create an architectural model of a commercial, residential, or industrial building in their imaginary community. Daily lunch is included in this camp. At the conclusion of the week, families and friends will be invited to Taliesin West to see a showcase of the campers’ work!

Sui’s unique approach to creating narratives through her work is legendary: a self-taught historian of culture, art, and fashion, she samples music, books, exhibitions, movies, time periods, photography, and art movements in her designs. Inspired by the exhibition The World of Anna Sui, visitors will have an opportunity to create their own fashion designs using fashion plates and colored pencils.
