The Davidson Distinguished Lecture Series invites all to this special presentation by Dr. Abraham Verghese New York Times bestselling author practicing physician and Stanford University professor. Verghese is a prominent voice in medicine with a uniquely humanistic view of the future of healthcare. He received the National Humanities Medal from President Obama “for reminding us that the patient is the center of the medical enterprise.”  For 15 years Dr. Verghese was Vice Chair for the Theory & Practice of Medicine at Stanford University. Outside of healthcare he is best known as a phenomenally successful author. The Phyllis and Bob Cowan Performing Arts Series presents Michael Feinstein as he brings to life Big Band Celebrations and the Tony Bennett legacy.  Supported by the Carnegie Hall Big Band, Feinstein pays a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Tony Bennett, bringing his iconic songs to life in a symphony of sound.
