Photographer Walter looss Jr. had the opportunity to work with some of the greatest athletes of the past sixty years, capturing on film carefully crafted moments of triumph and disappointment – universal emotions that athletes and non-athletes alike know so well. The Perfect Shot: Walter looss Jr., and the Art of Sports Photography takes visitors through some of the most inspiring moments in the sports history and highlights the craft and talent that transformed these moments into arts. The exhibit features athletes such as Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Arnold Palmer, Tiger Woods, and Serena Williams. Free Event.

Get ready for a showdown like never before! For the first time ever, the PBR Challenger Series is coming to the Ector County Coliseum, and it's all thanks to Chevron and the Ariat Texas Rattlers! Mark your calendars for June 20th because champions will be storming into Odessa to face off against some of the toughest bulls around. Stars from the Odessa College Rodeo Team will also be taking on the Ariat Texas Rattlers in a thrilling team competition! This generous contribution is part of Chevron and the Ariat Texas Rattlers' season-long charitable initiative called 800 for 8. For every qualified ride made by one of the team’s riders at the PBR Chevron Showdown and throughout their entire 2024 regular season, Chevron will donate $800 to nonprofits in the Permian Basin, supporting causes like the Midland Children’s Rehabilitation Center Hippotherapy Program, FFA programs in MISD and ECISD, and the Reeves County Junior Livestock Show.
