Guadalupe Hernandez is a Texas-based artist who earned his MFA from Houston Baptist University in 2021. Hernandez was born in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, before relocating to Pleasanton, TX, a small city south of San Antonio, in 1998. Despite the move to the United States, Hernandez maintained a deep connection to his Mexican heritage and customs through time-honored familial traditions. This exhibit pays homage to his parents who left their homeland in search of a brighter future for their family. The accompanying pieces in this collection weave together fragments of their journey and the various forms of labor they undertook to provide their children with the opportunities they were denied. A few of Hernandez's most recent accomplishments include the Nest Heritage Craft Prize for his […]

Over the past two years, it’s been the force driving her recovery from a debilitating stroke she suffered on November 17, 2020, at age 67. Her masterful, multi-Grammy-winning songwriting has never deserted her. To wit, her stunning, sixteenth studio album, Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart, brims over with some of the best work of her career. And though Williams can no longer play her beloved guitar – a constant companion since age 12 – her distinctive vocals sound better than ever. Mike Campbell was a member, architect and co-captain of the Heartbreakers, a band he co-founded with Tom Petty, whom he met in a Gainesville, Florida carport in 1972. The Heartbreakers lead guitarist, Campbell co-wrote many of the Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers hits and also co-produced many of their albums – in addition to penning songs for […]
