Tom Lea Day

October 14 • 6pm All are welcome for an evening of music in celebration of Texas artist Tom Lea as part of a state-wide Tom Lea Month on Thurs, Oct 14th at 6:00. Composer and musician Raymond (Seth) Bedford, Orchestra Head Director for Odessa High School, will be preforming a piece inspired by Lea’s mural Stampede. Audience members will be able to view Stampede throughout the performance. Light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.  All ages are welcome to this free event. Adventures in Art

November 7 • 2:30 – 4:30pm • $20 • Ages 6-12 Register for our monthly exhibit-driven studio classes for students ages 6-12. This month students will focus on Painting.  Students will tour current exhibitions and do a related studio art project. $20 per class by advance registration only.

Book Talk

November 18 • 6pm • Free • Ages 16 + Join us for Book Talk, the Museum’s book club for adults! We will be discussing “Patch Work: A Life Amongst Clothes by Claire Wilcox” on Thursday, November 18. The author of this book worked as a curator in Fashion at the Victoria & Albert Museum for over 20 years. This beautifully written memoir unfolds in luminous prose the spellbinding power of the things we wear: their stores, their secrets, their power to transform and disguise and acts as portals to our pasts; the ways in which they measure out our lives, our gains and losses, and the ways we use them to write our stories.
