1 event,he Randy Travis: More Life Tour features the legendary country singer and his co-star in independent film The Price, James Dupré. The Country Music Hall of Fame member’s long-time touring band rejoins “Hoss,” as they affectionately call Travis, on the road for the first time since right before his stroke in 2013. The show will consist of Dupré and the band performing all of his iconic number ones including “On The Other Hand,” “Forever and Ever, Amen” and “Three Wooden Crosses.” Randy Travis will make a special appearance, engaging with the audience and taking part in the show. Please note: While he will not be singing, his presence will make for an unforgettable experience. VIP passes are available in most markets that include a meet and greet with the country icon, himself. Tickets for the shows will be listed at RandyTravis.com as they go on sale. “We are incredibly excited to be back on the road and give Randy’s fans a chance to hear his music live again, and who better to sing his many hits than James Dupré?” said Mary and Randy Travis. Always wanting to please his fans, and not willing to give up creating despite the after-effects of the stroke, the long-time […] |
1 event,For more than 60 years the Limeliters have entertained audiences from coast to coast with their soaring vocal harmonies and screwball sense of humor. They first made their mark in folk clubs and on college campuses during the height of the folk music boom of the early 60's. Before long, founding members Alex Hassilev, Lou Gottlieb and Glenn Yarbrough emerged as one of the dominant voices of the early 1960’s folk music scene. A string of best-selling albums for RCA Records and frequent appearances on dozens of major TV shows quickly made them a household name. For three years they were the musical representatives for Coca-Cola, and their rendition of the jingle “Things Go Better with Coke” became a national hit. Time Magazine summed up their appeal with the following memorable quote: “If the button down scrubbed looking Kingston Trio are the undergraduates of big-time folk singing, The Limeliters are the faculty.” Over the years, the lineup of the group has featured several spectacularly talented new members, but The Limeliters have never deviated from the integrity of the fabulous sound that they pioneered and they are still one of the most exciting and entertaining vocal acts touring the country. |

1 event,Dr. Brad Light, Chorale Director Dr. Erica Rumbley, Pianist $25 General Admission, Students $12 PURCHASE TICKETS ONLINE 800-514-3849 This program offers a window into the roots of American musical identity, drawing on folk hymns, early sacred music, and spirituals that emerged from communities rather than concert halls. These songs—passed down through oral tradition, shaped by regional practices, and grounded in shared experience—capture a uniquely direct and expressive musical language. From the stark, modal contours of early New England psalmody to the flowing lyricism of folk-derived melodies, this repertoire reflects a nation finding its voice through simplicity, sincerity, and collective song. Several highlights illuminate the breadth and depth of that tradition. The music of William Billings stands as one of the earliest expressions of a distinctly American compositional style, while later arrangers like Alice Parker and Robert Shaw bring renewed clarity and vitality to traditional hymnody and spirituals. The contributions of Florence Price and Moses Hogan highlight the enduring power and emotional depth of the spiritual tradition, transforming these songs into compelling concert works that retain their deep sense of authenticity and purpose. The program concludes with the music of Aaron Copland, whose settings of folk material helped define a modern […] |
