Beethoven and Blue Jeans – Midland High School Orchestra

The idea is the brainchild of the Midland High Head Orchestra Director, Nikesha Hailey-Hicks who recalled an event in 2001 she attended where the musicians all wore blue jeans and played the music of Beethoven. By melding classical music with fun fiddle tunes, students in denim, and a good ol' Bar B-Q meal Beethoven and Blue Jeans has become a tradition for the Midland High School Orchestra. Beethoven and Blue Jeans is a community event to show gratitude for all the support that the orchestra continues to receive year after year.
