    The Midland College Art Department invites you to experience works by the Silverton, Colorado Powerhouse Art Guild.  The exhibit is displayed August 21-September 29 in the Allison Fine Arts Building McCormick Gallery.  Gallery hours are 8:00 am-9:00 pm, Monday through Friday and 8:00 am-5:00 pm on Friday.  There is no fee to view the exhibit. The Silverton Powerhouse Art Guild is an eclectic group of artists who's mutual purpose is the aesthetic, educational and cultural betterment of the surrounding community. Operating out of Silverton's historic powerhouse building in the iconic San Juan Mountain Range, the Powerhouse Art guild represents a creative presence that offers a variety of unique content--not just active ceramics production from occupant members, but academically immersive opportunities for local inhabitants, such as pottery master classes and regular resident guest artists. The Powerhouse Art Guild seeks to further the positive creative trajectory that is intent on making Silverton, Colorado even more of an artistic, cultural destination. They also bring their own catalog of Original music to their shows to offer a unique experience to each audience at every performance. Show will be at the Odessa College Green Space at the new Odessa Arts First Friday Series on Sept 1 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.

    Welcome to AIRSHO  Gates open 9:00am, flying begins 11:30am, and concludes 3:00pm AIRSHO is an exciting event held annually at Midland International Air & Space Port in Midland/Odessa, Texas and hosted by the Commemorative Air Force High Sky Wing.  In addition to one of the most impressive flying displays of vintage military aircraft, you'll also see some of the most popular civilian aerobatic performers.  AIRSHO offers visitors a chance to get close to the aircraft and see them perform in ways you won't experience anywhere else.  In addition to a dazzling display of aircraft, you'll want to be sure to watch the CAF's Pyrotechnic Groups, award-winning groups of licensed pyrotechnic technicians shake the ground with simulated bombing raids, strafing runs and the infamous "wall of fire."     The Phyllis and Bob Cowan Performing Arts Series presents Animaniacs: In Concert!   Join the leading voice-cast of Animaniacs - the iconic animated Warner Bros series created and produced by Steven Spielberg - for a “zany, animany and totally insaney” evening as they perform the world-famous songs from the beloved cartoon TV series (backed by video projections from the equally world-famous animations).  The show is guaranteed to be fun for the entire family!   General Admission seating is FREE; tickets are not required.
