• Silverton Powerhouse Art Exhibit

    The Midland College Art Department invites you to experience works by the Silverton, Colorado Powerhouse Art Guild.  The exhibit is displayed August 21-September 29 in the Allison Fine Arts Building McCormick Gallery.  Gallery hours are 8:00 am-9:00 pm, Monday through Friday and 8:00 am-5:00 pm on Friday.  There is no fee to view the exhibit. The Silverton Powerhouse Art Guild is an eclectic group of artists who's mutual purpose is the aesthetic, educational and cultural betterment of the surrounding community. Operating out of Silverton's historic powerhouse building in the iconic San Juan Mountain Range, the Powerhouse Art guild represents a creative presence that offers a variety of unique content--not just active ceramics production from occupant members, but academically immersive opportunities for local inhabitants, such as pottery master classes and regular resident guest artists. The Powerhouse Art Guild seeks to further the positive creative trajectory that is intent on making Silverton, Colorado even more of an artistic, cultural destination.   • An Evening with Kevin Von Erich

    Kevin Von Erich was now for his athleticism and powerful wrestling style in the ring, and for being a protective big brother outside of it. Known as the Golden Warrior, he was a force to be reckoned with in his matches. Kevin, along with his father and brothers. was a key figure in the history of World Class Championship Wrestling, a promotion that was based n Dallas, Texas, and aired in markets across the US and Internationally. Alongside his family, helped build WCCW into one of the most popular wrestling promotions of the 1980s. Despite achieving great success in the ring, Kevin distanced himself from the ring after the deaths of his four brothers and father. The family was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009, a fitting tribute to the Von Erichs' incredible legacy in the sport of wrestling. Come and hear firs hand accounts of the life and legacy of the Von Erich family in this one-night event at the Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center.

    Wednesday, September 13, 2023 9:00 AM- Sunday, November 26, 2023 5:00 PM Sophie Blackall is an award-winning children’s author and illustrator. Blackall’s artistry originated with drawing in the sand on the beaches of her childhood home in Australia. Her skills and passion grew until she earned a Bachelor of Design with honors in Sydney in 1992. In the following years, she drew robotic figures for amusement parks, lent her hands to a DIY television show, and produced a household hints column. She has illustrated over 30 children’s books and created one book for adults. Curated by the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature, Hello Sophie!: The Picture Book Art of Sophie Blackall, showcases examples of the 30 illustrated artworks for her children’s books that she created. On display starting September 13 to November 26, 2023. Free and open to the public.

    Ages 12+ Coming off of the highly anticipated Universal Picture film, Easter Sunday, and his recent Netflix special, Jo Koy: Live From The Los Angeles Forum, Comedian Jo Koy announces his 2023 Jo Koy World Tour, with a stop at Wagner Noël Performing Arts Center on Thursday, September 14th and Friday, September 15, 2023. As one of today’s premiere stand-up comedians, Jo Koy has come a long way from his modest beginnings performing in a Las Vegas coffee house. Jo’s uniquely relatable comedy pulls inspiration from his colorful family has reached all kinds of people and has translated into sold-out arenas around the world. His highly anticipated 4th Netflix stand-up special, Live From The Los Angeles Forum premiered globally on September 13, 2022. The special is a follow-up to his 2019 Netflix special, Comin’ In Hot.   • Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Live in Concert

    An all-new national tour is coming Wagner Noël PAC on September 20th which will bring fans a whole new way to experience their favorite box office hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The Academy Award-winning film from Sony Pictures Animation will be accompanied by a live orchestra, band and turntables with a scratch DJ playing music from the score and soundtrack. Joining the tour is The Broadway Sinfonietta, an all-women and majority women-of-color orchestra. Emily Marshall will serve as the tour’s conductor.
