• Amazing Castle Exhibit – Centennial

    The Amazing Castle™ transports children and adults to a magical place and time—within the castle’s stone walls there exists a happy and peaceful little community where every citizen has a special job to do. As visitors explore The Amazing Castle and its eight themed areas, they will encounter seven citizens who are part of the castle community. From entertaining to sewing, each citizen plays a special role. As they move through the castle, visitors can playfully explore ideas related to community life and experience the interconnectedness of friends, family and new acquaintances. Locally sponsored by the FMH Foundation, Rea Charitable Trust, Helen Greathouse Charitable Trust, MCPL Foundation, and the Carnegie Circle.

    Born in De Ridder, LA and raised in Houston, TX, Chris Cagle is an American Country Music Artist.  He moved to Nashville in 1994. While in Nashville, the struggling Artist held down several jobs: nanny, waiter, prep chef and golf caddy, among many others.  During that time, he signed a publishing deal with Caliber Music.  He had his first song, “I Breathe In, I Breathe Out”, cut by David Kersh within 8 months of signing his deal, but he wanted more.  He wanted to be an Artist. That dream came true in 2000 when he signed to Virgin Records.  Cagle co-wrote and co-produced his debut Gold record, Play It Loud, which produced a top 10 single, “My Love Goes On & On”, a top 5 single “Laredo” and the #1 single, “I Breathe In, I Breathe Out”. His self-titled sophomore project debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and is certified Gold, as well as yielding two Top 5 singles: “What A Beautiful Day” and “Chicks Dig It”.     The Ellen Noël Art Museum is thrilled to announce a new session of Adventures in Art, designed for aspiring artists aged 6-12. This engaging program offers young creatives the opportunity to learn the art of portrait painting, focusing on capturing the likeness of family members. Classes are scheduled from 2:30-4:30 PM, making for an inspiring and educational afternoon activity. Participants will begin with a tour of the museum's current exhibitions, drawing inspiration from professional artworks before diving into their own studio projects. The hands-on experience allows students to explore various techniques and develop their unique artistic skills under the guidance of experienced instructors. The cost for each class is $20, with advance online registration required. Due to the limited class size, we encourage early registration to ensure your young artist secures a spot. This is a fantastic opportunity for children to immerse themselves in the world of portrait painting, gain new artistic insights, and enjoy a creative and supportive environment.
