Wait Until Dark​

Frederick Knott’s thriller play first opened on Broadway in 1966 and was shortly followed by its movie adaptation starring Audrey Hepburn in 1967. Suzy Hendrix, a blind Greenwich Village housewife unwittingly possesses a doll filled with illicit drugs.  Three con men attempt to blackmail Suzy into handing over the doll.  A battle of wits ensues as Suzy and the young girl upstairs hash a plot against the thieves using her new-found blindness to her advantage.

About the Play The charming Christmas play has entertained audiences in San Antonio for 26 years and is considered as much a tradition as, "The Nutcracker", "A Christmas Carol, and " It's a Wonderful Life”  with many families making it part of their annual holiday ritual with fans anxiously awaiting its return year after year! The play captures three Latinas in an uproariously comical attempt at making tamales for the first time.  Things become even more entertaining when the spirits of two seasoned tamaleras appear to help the novices make the perfect tamal! Las Nuevas Tamaleras had its world premiere at El Teatro Bilingue de Houston for its First Annual Latino Playwright’s Festival, Houston Texas, September 1990. It soon had it’s San Antonio premier at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center in March 1993. Tom Lea Day

October 14 • 6pm All are welcome for an evening of music in celebration of Texas artist Tom Lea as part of a state-wide Tom Lea Month on Thurs, Oct 14th at 6:00. Composer and musician Raymond (Seth) Bedford, Orchestra Head Director for Odessa High School, will be preforming a piece inspired by Lea’s mural Stampede.
