Aaron Watson – Texas Music Friendly Community Certification

Saturday, 21 August 2021, 6:00pm. The Ector Theatre , Odessa Aaron Watson’s career is perhaps summed up best by Forbes, who says  he’s "one of country music’s biggest DIY success stories."For the past 20years, Watson has achieved success on his own terms, hand-building a lauded career through songwriting, relentless touring and more than a dozen self released albums. His independent Texas spirit and strong work ethic are emblematic of the western lifestyle; virtues which have taken him from humble honky-tonks of Texas to multiple sold-out tours around the world. In 2019 he released Red Bandana—"his most ambitious album yet"(Taste of Country)—whose 20 song swere hailed by The Bootas" a pure expression of his traditional country ethos.”This unprecedented acclaim follows Watson's previous album, Vaquero, whose Top 10 hit "OuttaStyle" earned a BMI Millionaire award, and The Underdog, the first independent album in the history of country music to top the Billboard Country Albums chart. With a dozen additional records under his belt, Watson is exceeding major-label-sized metrics while maintaining his independence, further galvanizing his"Texas country's reigning indie underdog"(Rolling Stone) brand."There maybe no more genuine singer-song writer at the moment than Watson," says Texas Monthly, pointing to a self-made business man, chart-topper, […]

Purple Piano: Prince Tribute

Friday, 27 August 2021, 7:00pm. The Ector Theatre , Odessa Nearly five years after the pop music icon Prince's untimely death, Marshall Charloff has created a unique one-man tribute dedicated to the artistry and music of the legendary Prince called The Purple Piano. In January 2016, at age 57, Prince began what would ultimately become his last tour entitled "the Piano & a Microphone." The tour was a series of solo shows that featured just him, his purple piano, and an incredible discography of songs. On January 21, 2016, the first performance was played to a small crowd at Paisley Park; and followed with an album "the Piano & a Microphone 1983." The Purple Piano, created by Marshall Charloff, is a heartfelt and intimate tribute to these very unique performances. Marshall Charloff has performed nationwide fronting world-class symphonies in most major cities in the US and Canada, played keys in the Atlanta Rhythm Section, and since 2011, tours fronting the celebrated Purple xPeRIeNCE - arguably the greatest tribute to Prince in the world, and co-founded by Matt "Doctor" Fink from Prince & the Revolution. Max & Heather Stalling

Saturday, 28 August 2021, 7:00pm. The Ector Theatre , Odessa Tickets: https://www.ticketfairy.com/event/max-stalling/ Texas based songwriter, Max Stalling, had no expectation of ever being in the music business. “I didn’t even pick up a guitar until graduate school,” notes Stalling. After attending high school in South Texas, Stalling studied at Texas A&M - College Station, where he earned a masters degree in Food Science. He followed the corporate road from there and eventually landed in Dallas working in product development for Frito-Lay. During this time, Stalling discovered the Three Teardrops Tavern and Dallas community radio station KNON. These outlets exposed a musical heritage to which Stalling had been nearly oblivious. Inspired by artists like Townes Van Zandt, Robert Earl Keen, Guy Clark, Lyle Lovett, and Jerry Jeff Walker, Stalling started writing songs, recording albums, and eventually touring with a full band to back him. Sixty thousand CDs later, Stalling joined musical greats Kris Kristofferson, Michael Nesmith of the Monkees, Selena, Guy Clark and many others when he received a star on the South Texas Music Walk of Fame in Corpus Christi. Stalling plays about 150 shows a year and is in the third year of a Budweiser sponsorship. His song “Scars […]
