Born in Taft, Texas, and raised in Yanush, Oklahoma, LaRue’s passion for music began early. His journey led him to Stillwater, Oklahoma, where he became immersed in the vibrant Red Dirt music scene alongside influential artists like Jason Boland and Cody Canada. Together, they helped define the raw, soulful sound that Red Dirt is known for today. Inspired by legends like Woody Guthrie, Bob Childers, and Mike McClure, LaRue has built a career rooted in blending heartfelt lyrics with raw emotion and genre-defying creativity. Over the years, LaRue has released a string of critically acclaimed albums that have cemented his reputation as one of the most respected voices in his genre.     The agenda will include: An overview of current film incentives in Texas Guidance on how to become “Film Friendly” A session with a Texas film producer about what he looks for when choosing a community for filming Attendees will be city representatives from our region who either want to become Film Friendly or need continuing education hours to maintain their certification. Discover Odessa already holds the Film Friendly Certification, but we are eager to build on it. Film tourism is an area we have only just begun to explore. With Odessa being the home of Friday Night Lights and Taylor Sheridan’s Landman generating so much attention, this is a timely opportunity we cannot afford to miss.
