Passive Program: Make Your Own Chess Set
Ector County LibraryHumanities**Ongoing monthly activity available at the Children’s circulation desk.** This month’s passive program is a fun adventure of wits and strategy – each chess move is a step towards exciting victories! Pick up supplies at the Children’s circulation desk to make your own chess set. Later in the month we will have a special Chess Class on April 22, 2024. Come to the basement activity room and learn to play chess with Chase Ross, the chess coach for Goddard JHS and Bunche Elementary School in Midland. Learn to move your pawns, the moves a knight can make, and how to checkmate your opponent.

Sensory Friendly Storytime

So we have partnered with Share, who work with Special Needs families in the Permian Basin for a Sensory Friendly Storytime with a couple of books, a few songs, and craft or sensory toys to play with after storytime. We will also have a calming room set aside for those that get overstimulated. Location: 3rd Floor Auditorium
