Austin, Texas-based singer-songwriter and former frontman of The Ugly Americans and The Scabs, Bob Schneider has become one of the most celebrated musicians in the live music capital. Drawing from a range of diverse musical styles, Schneider’s talent has defied genres. Schneider will be releasing a new record ‘In A Roomful Of Blood with A Sleeping Tiger’ in August 2021 with supporting tour dates throughout the US. Combining elements of funk, country, rock, and folk with the more traditional singer/songwriter aesthetic, Schneider draws inspiration from the ’70s with a modern twist, reminiscent of contemporaries such as Beck. Join us for a night of SCARY CELEBRATION! The FEAR Festival brings to life the energy and artistry of OC students, faculty, departments, and clubs … collaborating alongside our Odessa/Midland community to fill the Globe with exploration, creativity, and passion. The first hour puts the focus on the Visual Arts with paintings, photographs, and objects that adorn the Globe walls and theatre. Beginning in our second hour we take to the stage to share Spooky stories, Spanish legends, and Shakespearean ghosts while musicians sing, play and enhance the Halloween atmosphere. We hope you join us for this FREE EVENT. ONE. NIGHT. ONLY. Doors open at 6pm. It promises to be the opportunity of a death-time! The weekend kicks-off on Friday, October 27 at 7:00 pm with our annual homecoming parade around campus. Then we’ll welcome Texas country music star Aaron Watson to the Kirk field for a FREE community concert starting at 7:30 pm. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to enjoy the show. There will be food trucks on site along with beer for sale. No outside food or drinks are allowed. After the concert, we’ll light a bonfire and have a fireworks show! |

The Temptations, often referred to as American Music Royalty, are world-renowned superstars of entertainment, revered for their phenomenal catalog of music and prolific career. The group celebrated their 60th Anniversary through 2022. To mark this milestone, The Temptations released a brand-new album, Temptations 60, with nearly all-original songs in January of 2022. Dr. Otis Williams, the sole surviving, original member of The Temptations, turned 80 on October 30th of 2021. |

Program: Zhou Long Song of the Ch'in for String Quartet Ludwig van Beethoven String Quartet Op.18, no. 1 H.T. Burleigh Till I Wake for Trombone and Piano Daniella Candillari Extremely Close for Trombone and Piano Intermission Adolphus Hailstork Monuments for Trombone and String Quartet (World premiere written for David Jackson) Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel String Quartet in E-flat Major with trombonist David Jackson and pianist Shari Santorelli Bringing songs and stories from the “Man in Black” to the stage in a way that audiences haven’t seen or heard before. With video of Johnny from episodes of The Johnny Cash TV Show projected on a screen above the stage, a live band and singers will accompany him in perfect sync. This concert experience will showcase iconic performances from the TV show and highlight the spirit of the legend by revisiting some of his memorable words and anecdotes. Cash will perform some of his biggest hits, including “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Ring of Fire, “And “I Walk the Line,” and share stories of people he met along the way whose causes he championed–the working man from all walks of life. Plus, onstage male and female singers will split vocal duties performing their own takes on Cash hits. The music never stops in this concert event! |
